POSITION TITLE:
Test Development Engineer

REPORTS TO:
Product Development Test Engineering Manager
SUMMARY:
Develops test programs for digital & analog and mix-signal devices;
Confers with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products and provide production support to customers;
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consults customers on the basic understanding of hardware design for ATE testing;
Implements known production solutions;
Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks;
Loads test programs, collects datalog, and debugs failing devices. Uses analysis tools on ATE tester to do engineering analysis;
Analyzes customer device requirements and identifies optimum test methodologies;
Identifies the Operating Software requirements for ATE workstations (or computers);
Manages the ATE workstation environment for customers;
Communicates with customers the debugging analysis in detail;
Debugs customers test programs and suggests solutions to customers.;
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
5-7 years of experience in test engineering program development, product engineer, or related positions;
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Requires considerable knowledge of: modern office methods and procedures; modern business English, spelling and arithmetic; the operations of common office machines and equipment;
Requires considerable ability to: use good judgment in making routine decisions in accordance with existing laws, ordinances, regulations and departmental policies and procedures; establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with departmental personnel and customers.
PRIMARY SKILLS:
Digital (Basic and High Speed), Mixed-signal devices and electronics components;
RF devices and Memory devices;
Wired Communication Devices, Computation, Graphics & Gaming, Consumer Electronics, Wireless Communication Devices;
Software - C/C++, JAVA, Visual Basic;
Operating Systems - MS-Windows, UNIX, and Linux;
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong customer service and problem solving skills;
Tools: DVM, Oscilloscope, Soldering and Spectrum analyzer;
Ability to handle multiple detailed oriented tasks;
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;
